NANJING, China, February 13, 2020 - GSMA has released a statement on canceling Mobile World Congress this year due to concerns regarding the coronavirus outbreak. Mobile World Congress is the world’s largest mobile event, where thousands of companies gather to launch products, discuss deals and partnerships. The event was scheduled to take place in Barcelona on February 24-27, 2020.
GSMA CEO John Hoffman said in a statement that “With due regard to the safe and healthy environment in Barcelona and the host country today, the GSMA has cancelled MWC Barcelona 2020 because the global concern regarding the coronavirus outbreak, travel concern and other circumstances, make it impossible for the GSMA to hold the event.”
As one of the exhibitors and a GSMA member, Whale Cloud respects the organizer’s decision and cancels the booth and partner program accordingly by following the arrangements of the organizer. Whale Cloud looks forward to the MWC Barcelona next year.
Whale Cloud was planning to launch its newest strategies and products during the MWC2020, including its consulting toolkit, data intelligence platform and 5G ready solution. We were also planning to announce our strategic cooperation with Alipay and the catalyst cooperation with China Unicom on blockchain-based 5G infrastructure sharing. Unfortunately, due to this unexpected epidemic, Whale Cloud received a formal statement from GSMA that the event was cancelled on February 13. However, we will continue to communicate with our customers through local roadshows and workshops. Meanwhile, we will also organize online webinars to deliver the technologies and messages to our customers and partners.
Whale Cloud will showcase its latest innovations in the upcoming event at Digital Transformation World in Copenhagen. The event is scheduled to take place on June 16-18, 2020.
