Themed “Digital Transformation 2.0”, Whale Cloud met global customers and industrial partners in three buzzing days, aiming to bring sophisticated thinking and successful implementations at the business level to inspire customers.

This year, Whale Cloud’s booth presented the company’s latest digital solutions, expertise, and know-hows, including conventional core capabilities and new responses to the changing market, such as CEE, QRUN, 5G, Cloud, etc. Through the exhibitions, Whale Cloud showcased its commitment to innovation and fast adaption to the market demands, as well as set the goal of helping customers break the ceiling of revenue growth.

In a fireside chat, Jacky Chen Jiang, EVP of Whale Cloud, jointly with Nikos Angelopoulos, Group CIO of MTN, took the spotlight and accepted a live interview on the studio stage. They shared insights into current trends in digital transformation for operators under the topic of “Accelerating the transformation of telco IT to an open, cloud-native and digital architecture”. The chat emphasized that an open, cloud-native architecture will be essential for operators to win a digital future.

Nikos introduced MTN’s company Ambition2025 strategy in the talk, it shows that MTN is focused on building the largest and most valuable platform business. This rests on a scale connectivity and infrastructure business (mobile and fixed access networks in the consumer, enterprise and wholesale segments) as well as platform businesses like Fintech.

Separately, during the Growth Summit, Whale Cloud Chief Business Advisor Marcelo Zhou delivered a joint speech titled “Unleash the Potential of Cloud” with ZAIN KSA and Alibaba Cloud. The topic revolved around our ongoing partnership and shared the tremendous opportunities that appear to telcos from the cloud. The practice with ZAIN KSA is a testament to our successful synergy to promote customer benefits through cloud adoption. Marcelo also called on telcos to take action to seize the opportunities brought by the cloud.
